Of particular interest are World War I-era letters by Will McLeod to Mattie McLeod, correspondence between Angus McLeod, Helen McLeod and his parents, and diaries kept by Will and Angus McLeod.

The McLeod family arrived in Texas in 1897, emigrating from North Carolina. McLeods have been active in the Presbyterian ministry, law and public affairs in Texas.
